I found all of these “Screen Test” videos very interesting, but specifically this one. I am not a huge Emma Stone fan, but I really respect her as a person and as an actress. It’s refreshing to hear her speak about her passion for acting, and how she values that more than looking good for the audience. I liked how she mentioned how rare it is to find a genuinely funny female character, opposed to someone trying to impress a male character. I’m also curious as to why these clips were filmed in black and white, rather than in color. Maybe to make us focus more on what the actors were saying, since this wasn't set up as a typical interview.
I could tell from her roles and other interviews I have seen of her that she is that perfect combination of a tom-boy and a girly girl, I think that is what makes her so relatable and lovable. These screen test videos are awesome. Something similar I watch often is on Vogues Youtube channel, 73 questions with... Which is 73 quick questions with actors/singers in their home, very comfortable and fun!
It is very interesting to hear her background information, and here her point of view of herself. She seems very proud of her accomplishments and where she is at this point in her life. Like Melissa said, I think it is very interesting that it is in black and white, but it does definitely direct the attention to the information in the video, instead of worrying about the visuals.
