Falling in Love, Part 2

  1. Just also commenting on the second video since I commented on the first as well. To continue, with this video without words they are telling you by the lighting and framing that they are lovers. So quickly, no words just actions and framing such as his head in the picture frame making him important like you said! It was interesting to learn that more expensive materials catch light much better. Also the polishing helping reflecting of the light and so created a "lush" scene. As well as the soundtrack helping the scene with emotions while keeping it subtle. Then once the main character is pulled into frame and focused on him, you can feel the love because of this. The echo allows you to see them both feel the same way in this moment connecting.

  2. Watching this explanation after seeing the scene on its own really opened my eyes to things I would not have noticed before. Techniques such as the rule of thirds, and having someone walk by as a "curtain" are things I would not pick up on as a normal audience member watching the film. Learning about these techniques, specific placement of lighting, and camera angles really stress the dedication the crew has to the film to get the perfect shot. The people behind the scenes deserve just as much credit as the actors themselves.
