After watching this scene, it is one of those things that you would pull up to get a laugh at how terrible it is. The conversation between the two characters is awkward because they do not interact or make the conversation seem natural. The random pauses between lines, and even the direction cues such as "let's toss the ball around" add to the awkwardness. The music playing in the background tries to make the scene more dramatic, but can be argued to be doing the exact opposite. In my opinion, the music kind of makes the conversation a joke since after all it is about the boy falling in love with the other man's future wife. Also, the constant back and forth shots between the characters overpowers the conversation that is being held. The acting being terrible is one thing, but the amateur use of cinematography does not help the movie either.
This scene is just …bad. It is painfully obvious that the actors lines are scripted, making the scene sound choppy and hard to follow. Also, the camera angles do not flow well, they just jump from one spot to another as shown at about 0:17, and several times after. As Kristen stated, the background music is not serving any purpose in this scene, especially because the music is playing at one part of the scene, then stops, and continues toward the end of the scene.
it was just poor overall, like you said they dont listen and the third wall is abysmal. they jumped around and any sort of information was lost in the process. i feel like this is the kind of video you share on facebook with a witty caption on how awful it is and your surprise that it exists.
